    I purchased this book as part of an Apple promotion and I really enjoyed it. Ann sets the scene beautifully and in such detail that you feel you know the islands. She really did keep you guessing until the end! Highly recommended.

    A very good read, unusual location, sympathetic characters and a really surprising twist at the end. I have recommended this book to my sister and friends and I look forward to reading more of Anne Cleeve.

    I cannot praise this atmospheric crime novel enough. The descriptive writing leads you not only onto the Shetland Isles, but into the heart and souls of the characters. It isn't bogged down with heavy police procedure , instead it delves into, the "WHY"? Totally absorbing, a must read.

    This book has you hooked from chapter one! Many twists and turns in the story, and will leave you wanting to read on after every chapter. A must read for anyone who has been fortunate enough to visit The Shetland Islands. I'll certainly be reading the next book in the series!
